DEFINITIONS


2a “Act” “Act” means the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979;
2b “Appellate Officer” “Appellate Officer” means an appellate officer nominated by the Central Government under section 11;
2c “Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)” “Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)” means an officer as such appointed by the Central Government;
2d “Form” “Form” means a form appended to these rules;
2e “Inspector” “Inspector” means an Inspector appointed by the Central Government under section 20;
2f “Licensing Officer” “Licensing Officer” means the licensing officer appointed by the Central Government under section 7;
2g “Migrant workman” “Migrant workman” means an inter-State migrant workman as defined in section 2;
2h “Registering officer” “Registering officer” means the registering officer appointed by the Central Government under section 3
2i “Section” “Section” means a section of the Act;
2j “Specified authority” “Specified authority” means the authority specified by the Central Government for the purposes of sections 12 and 16;
2k All other words and expressions All other words and expressions used in these rules but not defined therein shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
