“Act” | “Act” means the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979; |

“Appellate Officer” | “Appellate Officer” means an appellate officer nominated by the Central Government under section 11; |

“Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)” | “Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)” means an officer as such appointed by the Central Government; |

“Form” | “Form” means a form appended to these rules; |

“Inspector” | “Inspector” means an Inspector appointed by the Central Government under section 20; |

“Licensing Officer” | “Licensing Officer” means the licensing officer appointed by the Central Government under section 7; |

“Migrant workman” | “Migrant workman” means an inter-State migrant workman as defined in section 2; |

“Registering officer” | “Registering officer” means the registering officer appointed by the Central Government under section 3 |

“Section” | “Section” means a section of the Act; |

“Specified authority” | “Specified authority” means the authority specified by the Central Government for the purposes of sections 12 and 16; |

All other words and expressions | All other words and expressions used in these rules but not defined therein shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act. |
