(1) This scheme may be called the employees' Deposit-liked Insurance Scheme, 1976.
(2) The provisions of this Scheme shall come into force on the 1st day of August, 1976.
(3) Subject to the Provisions of sub-section (2) of Section 16 and Section 17(2-A) of the Employees' Provided Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, this Scheme shall apply to the employees of all factories and other establishments to which the said act applies:
Provided that the provisions of this Scheme shall not apply to tea factories in the State of Assam.
