CHAPTER VIII - MISCELLANEOUS

Section 27: Cognizance of offense by courts

(1) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act or any rules made thereunder, save 011 a complaint made by the aggrieved woman or any person authorised by the Internal Committee or Local Committee in this behalf

(2) No court inferior to that of a Metropolitan Magistrate or a Judicial Magistrate of the first class shall try any offence punishable under this Act.


(3) Every offence under this Act shall be non-cognizable.
