Section:Sch I (9) (2) :Granting Of Leave

Obligation : To grant leave to a workman in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Standing Orders

Action to be taken:
On receipt of an application of leave from an employee, issue an order granting leave within a week or 2 days prior to commencement of leave, or on the same day if necessary. Issue a leave pass to the worker. If the leave is refused or postponed, record the reasons in a register to be maintained for the purpose and provide the employee a copy of the entry in the register. If a worker requests extension of leave in writing, send a written reply granting or refusing extension. A workman who overstays his leave/extension by more than 8 days loses his lien on employment
