Section:Schedule I 10 :Casual Leave
Obligation : To grant sick and casual leave to workmen in accordance with the act

Action to be taken:
Permit workmen to avail of 10 days of casual leave with or without pay in a calendar year. Casual Leave cannot exceed three days except in case of sickness. Ordinarily, the previous permission of the head of the department should be obtained, and when it is not practicable, the employee should be informed in writing of the absence and its probable duration
Audit Requirement: Have all workmen been granted casual leave in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Standing Orders ?
Supporting Documents: Leave Register with details of leave applications and refusals/postponements if any
