Section:34 :Excessive Weights

Obligation : No person employed in any factory should carry heavy weights which can cause injury .

Action to be taken:
To make sure that no person carries excessive weight which may cause injury. Employees should be not allowed to lift more than the prescribed maximum weight if such a weight is prescribed by the State Government

Audit Requirement:
Are no employees required to lift excessive weights or weights which are likely to cause them bodily harm ?

(1) No person shall be employed in any factory to lift, carry or move any load so heavy as to be likely to cause him injury.
(2) The State Government may make rules prescribing the maximum weights which may be lifted, carried or moved by adult men, adult women, adolescents and children employed in factories or in any class or description of factories or in carrying on any specified process.
