Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act
The Labour Welfare Board, Karnataka has announced that the contributions towards the Labour Welfare Fund for factories and establishments of Rs. 20 per employee and Rs. 40 per firm must be paid online on www.klwb.karnataka.gov.in. Considering rising cases of Covid and Omicron, the last date for payment has been revised from 15th January 2022 to 31st January 2022.

TN Labour Welfare Fund Rules
The Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board was constituted for the implementation of various Labour Welfare Schemes for the workers. As per Section 2 (d) of Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1972, employees working in Factories, Motor Transport Undertakings, Plantations and Five or more employees working in the Catering and Shops/Establishments should contribute Labour Welfare Fund @ employee share of Rs.10/- and employer?s share of Rs.20/- totally Rs.30/- per employee along with Form A for the year 2021 on or before 31.01.2022. This is subject to G.O.if any issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu regarding enhanced rate of Welfare Fund Contribution and the date of implementation. The state of Meghalaya has released its list of holidays for the year 2022.
Assam Professions, Trades and Employments Taxation
Government of Assam has amended provisions towards tax liability, returns and has also included new provisions towards provisions on Assam Value Added Tax and automated data processing system. As per the amendment, (1) apply liability to tax on members of the armed forces of India, (2) The penalty for not filing return has increased to one hundred for each day of delay or a maximum of rupees five thousand whichever is less, (3) The employers who are previously registered under The Assam Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, The Assam Value Added Tax Act, 2003, The Assam Taxation (On Specified Lands) Act, 1990, The Assam Agricultural Income-tax Act, 1939, The Assam Electricity Duty Act, 1964 considered to be registered under this enactment, (4) The Assam Value Added Tax Act, 2003 is applicable as is without any change, (5) Introduction of procedures for e-filing of returns and e-payment of taxes and automated data processing system.
