NOTES:
(a) The minimum rates of wages above are based on the All IndiaConsumer Price Index Number ( (b) The proposed rates of minimum wages shall be wi thin the meaning of clause (111) of sub-section (1) of section-4 of the Minimum Wages Act,1948. (c) Conversion of the monthly rates of wages into daily rates of wages and vice-versa shall be worked out by dividing the mon thly rates by 26 and multiplying the daily rates by 26. (d) The proposed rates of Minimum Wages above include the remunerationpayabl e to the employees in respect of the day of res t in every period of seven days. {e) An employee shall, for the work done on the weekly day of rest, be entitled to over time payment at the rate prescribed in rule-2 5 of theMinimum Wages Rules-1951. (f) Men and Women workers shall get the same rates of wages for the work of a similar nature .
CATEGORIES:
(a) "Unskill Work" means work which involves simple operations requiring little or no skill or experience on the job. (b) "Semi-Skilled work" means work which involves some degree of skill or competence acquired through experience of the job and which is capable of being performed under the supervision or guidance of a skilled employee and includes unskilled supervisiory work. (c) "Skilled Work" is one which involves skill or competence acquired through experience or the job or through training as on apprentice in a technical or vocational institute and performance of which calls for initiative and judgement. (d) "Highly Skilled Work" means work which calls for a degree of perfection and full competence in performance of certain task, acquired through extensive technical or professional training or practical work experience for long years and also required of a worker to assume fu ll resp onsibli ties for the judgment or decision involved in the execution of these.
