Authority Duties Powers
Central Government To determine the extent of the act and to make rules to give effect to the Act To give directions to the state government regarding execution of the act, to approve exemptions granted by the state government, to approve all rules made under this act
State Government To make rules to give effect to the Act in the State and to implement the act in the State To make rules regarding registration and housing, and on other matters, to appoint registering officers, inspectors and certifying surgeons, to exempt any employers from any or all of the provisions of the act
Registering Officers Appointed by the State Government to carry out registrations under the Act Receive and accept or reject registration applications
Chief Inspector To implement and enforce the Act Enter any premises at a reasonable time, make any examinations and inquiries, examine the crops grown in any plantation, examine any employees

Certifying Surgeons To carry out the examination and certification of workers and carry out medical supervision in plantations To carry out the examination of workers and the medical supervision of adolescents and children in any plantation, where the work is likely to be injurious to health
