The Trade Unions Act, 1926 provides for registration of trade unions (including association of employers) with a view to render lawful organisation of labour to enable collective bargaining. The act also confers certain protection and privileges on a registered trade union.
Applicability
The Trade Unions Act extends to the whole of India and it applies to all kinds of unions of workers and associations of employers which aim at regularising labour-management relations.The Act is a Central enactment but is administered by and large by the Sate Governments.Trade Unions whose, objectives are not restricted to one State, are the subject of the Central Government.
